Semi-Permanent Makeup

Eyebrows

The ending style of the eyebrows are very important based on your face shape (round, oval, heart, or square). The correct eyebrow line has the effect of magically taking years away from one’s appearance and giving the entire face a “lift.” In creating permanent eyebrows, a hair-stroke effect is used. The hair stroke technique is undetectable and when combined with shading, helps create depth and natural looking eyebrows.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique using a handheld microblade to create fine hair-like strokes to fill in natural brows or even those who do not have any brows.  You will have even, fuller and natural looking brows that can last up to 2 years. With this technique, the amount of pigment can fade over time depending on each person. This procedure will take two appointments to complete. The initial appointment consists of drawing the eyebrows to your preference followed by the microblading procedure.   Once done, you will go home to start the healing process that includes mild scabbing and required aftercare.  In the second appointment, usually 4 to 10 weeks time after the first one, the artist will make any necessary corrections to the ink and/or shape of the brows. Touch ups are recommended for upkeep.

What is Ombre Brows?

Ombre brows are created using a manual tool or a machine with micro needles to create a soft powdered effect that mimics a made up brow using makeup.  The front of the brow starts out light and continues to get darker towards the tail. This technique is best for all skin types, especially clients with oily skin and big pores.  Expect your brows to last up to 3 years. Touch ups are recommended every year for upkeep.

Eyeliner

Eye enhancement places pigment directly into the lash line. It creates a subtle, natural, “No makeup” look. This enhancement is favored by women who do not use eyeliner.

Open line is for women who would like their eyes to look more open. It consists of top and bottom lines with the outside edges left open.

Wide closed line appears to modify the shape of one’s eyes. Top and bottom liner give the appearance of almond-shaped eye.

Wide open end on top and bottom is recommended for those with drooping eyelids. It creates a permanent "Lift".

Lip Liners or Full Lip Color

Lip liner re-shapes the lip line and gives it more definition. The shape of the bottom lip influences the shape of the chin, bringing the suggestion of roundness to a square chin or giving an oval shape to a round chin.

Permanent lip liner is especially suggested for women who have a falling or droopy upper lip. Unfortunately, our lips get smaller as we mature. Permanent liner can change the size and shape of the lips and make them look more pronounced. Permanent lip liner also corrects the appearance of a cleft palate.

Pre and Post Treatment Instructions for Cosmetic Tattoos

Pre-Treatment Instructions

  • Do not take Ibuprofen or Advil.

  • Tylenol or other non-aspirin pain relievers may be taken 1 hour prior to procedure.

Post-Treatment Instructions

BROWS AND EYELINER

Keep the areas slightly moist with Vaseline ointment. Use a separate Q-Tip for each brow. The skin should not appear overly greasy. Apply a thin coat 2 or 3 times a day (morning, night, and in between) for around 7 days. If crust appears on pigmented surface, do not force removal by picking, scratching, or washing! (You will remove pigment along with crust.) Brows are not considered completely healed until all crusting has exfoliated naturally.

  • Avoid soaps, facial cleansers, moisturizers, skin cream, all Aloe Vera and Vitamin E products on pigmented area.

  • Avoid direct contact with pigmented area when washing for one week. Avoid Retin-A and glycolic acids on the brow forever.

  • Avoid makeup on pigmented area for 7 days, including non-allergenic.

  • Avoid sun and tanning beds on pigmented area

  • Avoid excessive water exposure. Avoid hot, steamy, long showers, chlorine pools, Jacuzzis or saunas for at least one week.

  • Avoid exposing pigmented area to shampoo and conditioner

Applying a thin coat of Vaseline ointment over the brows is a good idea before showering or shampooing your hair. Do not be alarmed by color fading after the first application. The final color cannot be judged until at least 2 weeks after the touch-up application is completed. This is the reason a follow-up is required. Do not be alarmed if the color comes off onto the Q-tip when applying topical ointment. This is normal.

LONG TERM CARE

Use a good sunscreen once the area has healed and reapply throughout the day.

LIPS

Lips will tend to be very dry. Keep the lips moist using a clean Q-tip and apply for at least 14 days. Apply a thin layer. Some peeling may occur. Do not peel off! During the healing process, try not to wipe your lips with a napkin while eating. Drink through a straw, even hot coffee or tea until the lips are healed. Lips have a tendency to fade up to 60%. Apply a thin layer of Vaseline before showering for the first 2 weeks.

  • Avoid soaps, facial cleansers, moisturizers, skin cream, all Aloe Vera and Vitamin E products on pigmented area for 2 weeks.

  • Wash around lips carefully! Avoid Retin-A and glycolic acids totally on the lips.

  • Avoid excessive water exposure. Avoid hot, steamy, long showers, chlorine pools, Jacuzzis or saunas for 2 weeks.

  • Avoid makeup on pigmented area for 14 days, including non-allergenic.

  • Avoid sun and tanning beds on pigmented area forever

  • Avoid spicy, salty foods.

Lips will always require a sun block due to dye photosensitivity. Anyone with a history of cold sores, canker sores and /or fever blisters on the lips or chin can ask their physician for prescriptive antiviral medication. For a lip liner procedure, you can apply lip makeup after one week. For a lip blend or full lip shading procedure, apply lip makeup after 2 weeks.

LONG TERM CARE

Use a good sunscreen once the area has healed and reapply throughout the day.

** Touch-up visits should be scheduled between three to six weeks post procedure. All cosmetic tattoo procedures are a 2-step process. Results are not determined until touch-up application is completed.
